Customer Reviews
A beautiful and quaint book which is a lot of fun!
I bought "The Baby's Catalogue" for my 16-month old daughter, Ruby. She loves to point at her favourite everyday things pictured in the book like the radio; the baby sitting on the potty examining his belly-button; the washing machine and the guinea pig (she even makes guinea pig 'squeaks' now when she sees the picture!). I like the way the book consists mainly of illustrations - it means that I can describe these pictures to Ruby in my own way. I also like how variations of the same object are pictured. Ruby points out which teapot or pram she likes. I pointed at the pram with two babies inside and asked, "Would Ruby like two babies?" and she quickly replied, "No!"! I find the pictures so charming and familiar. "The Baby's Catalogue" is a beautifully quaint book and it appears that there has been a lot of thought behind it's layout. It is a lot of fun!
Babies.
This book is wonderful for new babies and new parents. There is no story just words of things and lots of pictures. It is ideal for parents who want to bring the world of books to their very young children. It gives you the opportunity to interact with your baby, telling them about what things are and as they get older you can discuss what is happening with them. A real gem of a book.
Just great...
A wonderful book. Hours of entertainment and fun for adults and very young babies. Lots of detailed drawings outlining a gently humourous view of English life that transcends national boundaries. Faintly nostalgic, beautifully observed, and beyond peers in publishing for the very young. If any body tells you your newborn cannot see details, this book will prove them wrong.
