Manufacturer's Description
Introducing the Acer Aspire One D150, designed for complete connectivity on-the-go
Following the success of Acer’s Aspire One A series which fast became the world’s most popular netbook, the D series now improves on this winning formula with increased performance from Intel’s Atom N280 processor and a larger 10.1” CrystalBrite widescreen display.
Truly portable computing
Acer’s newest compact netbook is built to enhance your mobile lifestyle, weighing only 1.18 kg and boasting up to 7-hour battery life for extended fun and productivity while you're on the move!
With a larger 89% size keyboard and newly redesigned front track pad buttons the D150 makes typing emails and internet browsing pain-free.
Widescreen 10.1” Screen for broader vision and convenient navigation
The new 10.1” WSVGA high-brightness LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels offers a sharp display. With CrystalBrite technology it uses an ultra-fine, highly polished coating to achieve superior filtering and enable quicker image building as well as minimising reflection from internal and external light sources.
Integrated on top of the screen is an Acer Crystal Eye webcam which is optimized for poorly lit environments by using a high sensitivity camera. This lets you see your friends and family using instant messaging video chats.
Connectivity wherever you are
Whether at home, in a coffee shop or on the road, stay informed and in touch via wired, wireless or 3G connectivity options. The D150 features an Ethernet and three USB ports as standard as well as Wifi 802.11b/g with Acer Signal Up technology which enhances wireless signal by optimising the location of the antenna on the netbook allowing you to stay connected further from the Wifi base station and with stronger reception.
Selected models feature Bluetooth 2.0 allowing you to connect to a whole host of Bluetooth enabled devices. There is also the option of 3G connectivity so that you can access the internet from wherever your mobile connection allows.
Performance
Using Intel’s Atom N280 (1.66 GHz) processor made from the world's smallest transistors, the new Aspire One is more than capable in everyday tasks delivering speedy performance while maintaining long battery life.
With a large capacity 160 GB hard drive you can store hours of music and videos and whit the multi-in-1 card reader you can share photos, films and files with ease.
Stylish design
Available in four high-gloss colour options including white, blue, red and black, the slim and streamlined design immediately catches the eye and is complimented by the aerodynamically shaped metallic hinge and a brushed-metal effect palm rest.
Energy Efficient use
The 10” Aspire One meets Energy Star 4.0 requirements and can be equipped with a 6-cell Li-ion battery pack. With incredibly low idle power consumption, the 10” Aspire One offers up to 7 hours battery life.
Extra Software
The Aspire One comes with Windows XP® Home operating system; additional preinstalled software includes Acer eRecovery Management, Acer Launch Manager, Adobe® Reader®, McAfee® Internet Security Suite Trial, Microsoft® Office Trial 2007.
Included as standard is a comprehensive 1-year International Travellers Warranty which can be extended by 2 further years with Acer Advantage.

Excellent mini laptop can do everything the expensive ones do
A friend recently bought a mini-laptop and got me thinking about replacing my old Dell Inspiron(well not so old but broken). A search of reviews online found the Acer Aspire 1, which seemed the most reasonable for the specs and price. At the same time I bought my father a HP model, quite a bit more expensive .
I'm a heavy computer user so I was worried it wouldn't cope with vigorous use and heavy apps I'm running. So far it's handled everything I've thrown at it, everything I used to do on my 'regular' laptop. The HP one and my flatmate's new Samsung mini have the exact same specs, they just look a bit more stylish. I'm happy in saying that I have the same laptop as them just 150 quid less expensive.
I should add that I've started using the Aspire One a lot more than my old laptop. It's portability and battery life make it brilliant for bringing around and I dont feel like such a fool pulling it out on public transport or bringing it to a friends place on the weekend. I can bring it away when I leave the country also - the old one was a bit too big for that.
Plus the wireless range is longer than that of any other machine I have, even my PC with an external aerial I paid e50 for!
Pros - Long battery, portability , extremely long wireless range, can do anything a bigger laptop can.
Cons - Not as stylish as it's rivals, mouse button a bit lame (all the others I've used are the same or worse tho), could do with larger keyboard buttons like the new Samsung
good machine with excellent battery life
A good portable computer with a 7hr plus battery life whch is excellent for using when you cannot get to the mains. The computer will play some older games without problem but the graphics are not up tp the newer games. I added extra memory which is simple and you only have to remove one panel in the back.
Excellent little laptop but inaccurate product description
The laptop itself is fantastic and the keyboard doesn't take that long to get used to. All in all worth 5 stars if it had completely matched the description.
The problem is that in the description it says that it would come with the 4400 mAh battery. Mine however came with a standard 2200 mAh one. This limits it's uses since I still have to remember to carry the recharger around if I want to keep using it for a bit longer time which I always do.
Another negative point is that while I was looking for larger extra battery I noticed that it's not clear whether the Aspire One A-series batteries are fully compatible with the D-series.
So not only would I have to pay extra to get full use out of my laptop, I also can't be sure that the extra money won't get wasted. Otherwise it's just fantastic.
