Customer Reviews

Great, practical book for the E.B.T enthusiast !5
Having read several books about E.B.T's, alot of them American, Peter Larkin's book was a real treasure. Packed with lovely photo's and very good advice on the selection, grooming and 'special needs' of these wonderful dogs. If you have a Bull Terrier or are thinking of sharing your home with one, then this book is a MUST !

Peter Larkin's book is written in a concise format and does not contain 'generic padding' so frequently used in many breed books published in the USA. In 80 pages Larkin is able to offer a prospective or new Bull Terrier owner practical and balanced advice (with just a pinch of sentimentality on occasion).

Larkin has many years of experience working as a veterinary surgeon and began owning Bull Terriers from 1952 and established a breeding programme in 1960. Additionally he has served as a spercialist judge in the UK and abroad.

I have read several breed books relating to Bull Terriers, many include a range of good photographs and Larkin's book easily meets this criterion. There is a good use of photography relating to understanding breed standard requirements (rather than a diagram).

In short, I would recommend this book and consider it an important part of any owner's library relating to this exceptional breed. As many of you may have heard, the Bull Terrier is NOT a dog for everyone as it demands close attention to ensure it develops into a balanced and healthy adult. Larkin's book will provide you with the knowledge you need to have when weighing the decision to invest in owning a Bull Terrier.
