Customer Reviews

Frustrating3
Guide books are plenty and difficult to choose from. I chose this as it's one of the most latest guide book you can get around and it's not another LP production (no offence). This review was done 8 mths after the trip (went in January 2009)

The pros
- good style and layout
- easy to follow
- descriptive enough to have a bit of an idea

The cons
- the information are definitely not up-to-date!! For a book which is in print 2008 (so researched 2007/2008) there are many information which is incorrect especially as I have been made aware that some of the changes are before 2007!
- it's very skechy - almost hurried like thus not highlighting enough about the area. In fact you can read a section of it but still don't get which places to go and what to focus on
- accomodation was very disappointing. Rhere was severe lackness of options of accomodation at places and resorts and we were only aware of the places when we get there and suprised to why it was not included despite the place has stood there way before the book was in print.
- local tip on culture was also minimal
- travel information on moving about was poor and inadequate

Overall I was disappointed with this book. It was liveable during the stay as Malaysia itself is a very easy country to go around and there are plenty of guide on the internet. For a book which is marketed in such a way for an independent traveller, it might as well don't try.
