Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. Even her hair's a mess! But that's going to change now she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is to land Chicago's hottest batchelor as her client...Heath Champion is wealthy, driven, gorgeous, so why does her need a matchmaker, especially a walking disaster like Annabelle Granger? True, she's entertaining, and she does have a certain quirky appeal. But Heath is searching for the ultimate symbol of success- the perfect wife. When the matchmaker promises she'll do anything to keep her star client happy...does she mean anything? If Annabelle isn't careful, she just might find herself going heart-to-heart with the toughest negotiator in town- a man who's beginning to ask himself: exactly how perfect does perfect have to be?

a wonderful screwball comedy
I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips! Her writing always reminds me of those classic screwball comedies starring Spencer Tracy and Katerine Hepburn but with an utterly modern twist.
MATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a delightful romp - full of romance and humour. It's utterly escapist and full of witty dialogue. Someone should make a movie of it, they really should.
Terrific fun!
Fabulous read- I'm now a fan !!
I absolutely agree with the reviewer-this has "screwball comedy" written all over it.You can hear Cary Grant & Kat Hepburn- if you yearn for dialogue ricocheting like bullets from a gun, then this is the book for you.It also has characters from some of her other books -& I hadn't read them before, but I have now bought them all. When I finished the book- I felt a sense of loss I usually only feel after finishing a Linda Howard book- SEP 's writing is not like Ms Howard's-she's much more light-hearted- but the darker bits are just as heart-wrenching . Buy this book !!-you'll laugh like a lunatic-people will think you are certifiable- but it's worth it- then read all the prequels-you won't regret it .
Perfect for each other...
I absolutely adored this book. This is the second book by author Susan Elizabeth Phillips that I have had the pleasure of reading and I have loved them both. The first `AINT SHE SWEET' was a fun romantic novel that also had somewhat of a serious side while `MATCH ME IF YOU CAN' was all fun! I found myself reading through the chapters quickly so I could find out what happened next. Matchmaker Annabelle Granger and Sports agent Heath Champion are a couple that you will be rooting for from the very beginning. The chemistry is great and the pacing of the story is just right. SEP gives you exactly what you want when you want it without making anything too easy. Can't wait for her next one...but in the meantime I think I will brush up on some of her previous works!
