Worth to have
It's a good starting point for planning your trip and prioritize what you would like to see. There is so much to see and do that everything is not possible over a short period of time and the guide is just perfect to give you an idea of the best not to miss attractions. Do not rely on the few accomodation listings provided though, as some further research will def be necessary (especially in the peak season)when most places are booked.
Perfect for planning
Covers the perfect area we're planning to visit - it's a good size (not too bulky, or too small), plenty of up-to-date info too (in fact I think it is the most recent of all the South African guides available today). Recommended.
Useful guide but you can't just rely on this for your trip!
This is the latest guide on Cape Town & surrounds to be released (Oct 08) and being the most up-to-date makes it a worthwhile purchase. However, I think a lot more could have gone into this guide and the coverage of certain key tourist areas is lacking substantially. Buy this guide but do your own research on the internet to find the best places to stay, bars, clubs and restaurants. Don't just rely on this guide for that! For less than £9 on the web it's worth having, at RRP of £12.99 it's overpriced.
