Customer Reviews
one of the best series ever
The 2007 series of Waking The Dead is one of the best ever done. The crime stories are really good and attention graping from minute one. I like that the over agressiveness of Boyd is reduced and more humour is re-introduced. The new cast is great and adds new dimensions to the team. The old cast is perfect as ever. In short: 5 stars
Great ... Ready for Series 7
Love this show. Only get the first 3 seasons in the States and since my DVD player is Region Free (with a little help) I've ordered all the other series from Amazon UK. Absolutely fabulous production that leaves the US spin-offs in a trash heap behind.
Counting the days until Series 7 is released.
Maybe not dead but dying!
I have to agree that Waking the Dead is past its useby date. The last few seasons have degenerated more into a soappie than a cold case unit (I am so sick of every episode dealing with Boydes mental issues!). The new member of the team doesn't tell her own squad that she slept with the guys that get done in, lies to Boyde, tries to destroy evidence, but no probs, she's still on the team in the next episode. AS IF!!!! (Oh, and regarding Mel's death, why did she (a trained copper) turn her back on a mentally disturbed and agitated person to answer a phone while standing on the edge of a building balcony! Again. AS IF!
The plots are dealing more with live people than dead people and the show has gone for Hollywood drama than old fashioned forensics. Still watchable but no longer gripping or believable.
