Exciting but hellish adventures of Spawn continue...4
Spawn volume 2 more or less carries on where the first book ended. Spawn still tries to find out what happened to him. There is less interaction between Spawn and the evil Jason Wynn than the first book, and some readers will be confused by plot holes which are explained by reading the Youngblood stories and Angela spin-off (I believe these are not included as they were created by Neil Gaiman, who had a nasty falling out with Mr. Macfarlane).
Anyhoo, these plot problems don't impact on the main story too much but they can be frustrating at times. A nice plot line is the increasing relationship between Spawn and the homeless community, who have accepted Spawn as a protective figure. Spawn even shows affection in a few scenes towards them!
Anyone concerned about the lovey-dovey bits need not be worried. There is plenty of violence and action throughout the book, including Heaven's own vicious anti-Spawn and the return of Overtkill.
This is an essential part of your Spawn collection.
