Albion Dreaming
If you have a disposable income and Syd is featured high in your list of inspirational, admirable, Loveable poeple - you cant pass this up. Ofcourse you'd also want London 66/67 DVD (or CD) and the re-relase of Piper (3 CDs - 1 is a mono mix). You'll also want a copy of Albion dreaming as well as Stan Grofs "gateway to the numinous". Strange how I find Waters is Pink Floyd (mk II) and yet Gilmour makes anything sound good - but isnt Pink Floyd. His dedicatory renditions of Syds songs are done very well - just a touch of David, largely almost a "sample" of Syds "vibe". While I have a copy of the voyueristic video of Syd in his older Roger Barrett phase - I feel so paternal towards him, and yet so inspired by him. Dave said he Roger / Syd had a spring in step (and I think) a gleam in his eye. I hope I meet Roger Barrett when I get to heaven. I dont thinks Syds demise was neccassary. I dont want to be libelious so I wont lay blame. But in a truly civilzed society - Syds problems (i belive) would be treatable in a humane and loving way (see Grof or "The secret Chief"). And then the "black holes in the sky" would Shine on.
