Product Description

Carefully conducted studies over many years show the same thing: that our eating habits are almost entirely unconscious, and can be influenced by hundreds of outside factors. By gaining knowledge of your eating habits, Dr. Wansink demonstrates that it is entirely possible to lose a stone in weight and how people don't eat calories, they eat volume, how we are manipulated by brand and appearance, and what your favourite comfort food says about you. With an insightful, incredible exploration what makes us eat the way we eat, Dr. Wansink demonstrates that it is not what we eat it is how we eat it.

American-English3
I found this book interesting to a point, BUT it is VERY American and as such not as user friendly as it could be. However I did find some of the info helpful and will probably dip into it again. If you have never been to America or know very little about there culture, this book is probably not for you as you will have no idea what "Taco Bell" is etc

This is a must read for anyone concerned with their weight5
I consider myself to be pretty well read when it comes to any books relating to diet / weight loss. In fact I have bought dozens over the years!

This is a fantastic and amusing look at how we eat what we eat and it gives such a great insight that you may begin to understand yourself and your habits more than you have ever done.

This book is not a 'diet book' as my husband thought as he rolled his eyes at me, but is more a food psychology book.

I would totally recommend this book and I urge you to buy it! A lot of the references in the book relate to US food chains, but they are relevant here too (ie subway, McDonalds etc)and all in all, this book would be of use no matter where you live.

Fascinating stuff!

Mind opening!!!5
This book is one of the most important books on food and health written this decade. Much more than a popular diet book, Dr Wansink details 20 years of published research, hidden away to most in the dietetics and nutrition field in marketing and psychology journals. What he and his team at Cornell University have found is mind blowing and will challenge your assumptions about what you eat, how much you eat and why you eat it. Most importantly however the book abounds with practical insights making the realisations in this book immediately relevant to improving your unconscious, mindless eating behaviour.
