Manufacturer's Description

This is the toy that can really read your mind!

Based on the traditional guessing game, played on most long journeys, school trips and holidays with the parents, this game has been bought into the 21st century! The idea of the game, think of anything, and that literally means anything, from your next door neighbour to a tub of lard, then answer the questions the 20Q throws at you as honestly and accurately as you can. The twenty questions will be answerable with either "yes", "no", "sometimes" or "don't know".

How does the 20Q guess what you are thinking? The artificial intelligence behind the game is a neural-network, similar to a human brain. A brain, or neural-network, is built from neurons connected by synaptic connections. A human brain has about one hundred trillion (100,000,000,000,000) synaptic connections. The 20Q.net online version has about ten million (10,000,000), and the pocket version has about two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000). The game uses the neural-network to choose the next question as well as deciding what to guess

What are the strangest items it will guess?
"Try it and see. So far we've got it to guess Samurai Sword, Love, Duck Billed Platypus and many other oddments.

Will it guess rude things?
Try it for yourself, but don't tell your mother what you're thinking!

Customer Reviews

Great, but a little bit spooky!!5
This toy is just brilliant! It might be small but it's powers are amazing! Like other reviewers I was initally very sceptical about it, but after challenging it numerous times I am convinced that this toy really does live up to its "mind-reading" claims! I have tried thinking of very simple things, such as a lion to more obscure items and 99% of the time this amazing little toy (or should it be referred to as a gadget?!) has got it right - which frankly, began to freak me out a little bit! Just how does it know exactly what you are thinking of?! You have to be careful not to answer "sometimes" too often as this can affect the answer - after all, you have got to give the little gizmo a fair chance! Some of the questions however are a little obscure and you have to 'guesstimate' the answer. Questions such as "does the object weigh more than a duck?" - I have never personally weighed a duck and I suppose it depends if its a particularly fat/skinny duck! :o)
This toy would be great as a gift for a kid, the awkward man in your life or anyone who is a bit of a gadget lover. I am sure that these toys will be making numerous appearances in playgrounds and pubs alike, with everyone thinking of wierder objects in an attempt to try and outdo and beat this game. With the festive season fast approaching, I would highly recommend this as a fab stocking filler gift! But be warned - you can play it through the 'open' packaging so it's probably best to wrap it up straight away, otherwise this fantastic toy/gadget (I'm still not really sure what to call it!) may not make it to it's intended recipient! An incredible toy and most definately worth the money!! :o)

addictively entertaining5
This little toy, about the size of a small apple, is completely addictive. It is recommended for ages "8 and up": I exceed that by over 30 years and I can't put it down.

No, it doesn't get it right every time (I was thinking of "camera" and it guessed "nose", bizarrely..)but the truly remarkable thing is just how often it DOES get it right after asking apparently irrelevant questions. I reckon it outwits you 3 times out of 5 but, hey, it's just so damn clever even when it's wrong..

I agree totally that it is great for children but anyone under 8 might have difficulty answering some of the questions. "Do you bring it with you?" is the weirdest question as even I'm not sure what it is trying to discover with that enquiry.

It's handy, cheap, engrossing and baffling. Highly recommended.

I'm off to have another go. Will it guess "skipping rope", I wonder?

(Two minutes later). Yes it did. Awesome. Totally awesome.

This is very addictive5
I've had this for two weeks and not a day has gone past when I haven't picked it up and tried to fool it - but 90% of the time it keep guessing what I'm thinking (how did it know I was thinking of a trumpet when it didn't even ask if it was to do with music?!). It will appeal to all ages although my mum is scared of it and is worried that the human race could be wiped out by these little plastic toys that seem to be more clever than most of us (it works using artificial intelligence). This is a lot of fun for your money!
