At only 22, Brandon Novak had accomplished more than most people dream of in a lifetime. By the age of 14 he'd been discoverd by legendary skateboarders Tony Hawk and Bucky Lasek and signed to skate professionally. By 18 he had travelled the world, signed autographs for thousands of fans and won big-time sponsorship deals. Yet, as swiftly as his career peaked, it crashed, brought down by a force more powerful than his ambition - heroin. He went from having it all to living rough, and only the help of friend Bam Margera could he begin to turn his life around.

Truely Amazing!
This book is insane. I just cant describe how great this book is. Its funny but also serious. Made up of all true stories that make you laugh but because it's all true it makes you realize that this happens to a lot of people and could happen to you.
On radio bam, Joe Frantz announced a sequel to be written, but not any time soon. The reason for the sequel is because the recent death of Brandon's Father means that they can add stuff about him, without being sued.
Could not stop reading
I got this for Christmas and it almost ruined the day...I couldn't put the book down, even though at times I certainly wanted to. There is a degree of horror and disgust that comes with reading this book, but that doesn't make it any less significant or real-perhaps making it more so. It is well written in a way that, even though you know there are events left out, you feel involved. Even to an extent emotionally, despite a lifestyle and experiance barrier. It is easy to read autobiographical work unemotionally and seperated from the author simply due to different experiance and lives, Novak makes himself understood. Perhaps this can be credited to Frantz's influence on the story telling.
I can't say I enjoyed the reading of this, sick fascination would be a better way to describe my emotions, however it is definatly a must-read, and I certainly will keep my copy to read again and again. And even though it can be described as a cautionary tale, and I have no interest in that side of things therefore no need to be cautioned, it has given me an insight into another life. This experiance in invaluble for its own merits.
Overall the book is intelligent, horrifying, but overall beautiful in the way it weaves a story that has not yet ended, and God knows how the reader hopes for a happy one, definately a more interesting book in my collection but none the less an essential.
