Richard Armitage outdoes himself reading Witchfinders audiobook!
Richard Armitage reads these audiobooks incredibly well! He does such a great job of expressing each character's idiosyncrasies! This one even makes me laugh in the funny places and sad in the sad places! He sounds so intelligent about his reading that you would think the characters were on a stage! Richard certainly outdoes himself on this Witchfinders audiobook! Fantastic job Sir Richard!!

RA is an excellent reader and this story is very well written
It is a wonder -and a shame in my opinion- why this story wasn't made into an episode of the third season of Robin Hood as it is very well written for once.
Like probably many viewers, I was a bit upset by the ending of the season 2 of Robin Hood and especially by Marian's sudden death.
This story, The Witchfinders, revolves around the theme of witches and people's superstitions. Kate, a new character and new member of Robin's boys band (who is in reality in the series a great deal annoying,and doesn't replace Marian or Djak for me), is arrested because she is suspected of being a witch. Of course, Robin and his men have to find ways to save her from being burnt. This story is quite interesting as we all know that there were all kinds of superstitions and witch- hunting going on in the Middle Ages. And yet, what I preferred in this audio book is when the story deals with the loss of Marian and the fact that Guy is haunted by her days and nights.
RICHARD Armitage is a marvellous reader. His reading is almost like live-acting as he does a different voice for every character and reads with great intensity. I find the passages on Marian very poetic and so moving that it has brought tears to my eyes, especially at the end and when Marians's ghost talks to Guy. Not only is it due to the writing but mainly due to Richard's reading...
So I recommend this to any Guy -Marian shippers but also to the other fans of the show and much more to the children who will be truly entertained. There's a little bit of magic, of medieval history with this story of witches, of adventure and action and evil characters are present like the Sheriff and some witchfinders. Just a kind of story I would read to my children! And listening to Richard's voice is such a treat too!

Richard Does It Again

Audio books read by Richard Armitage are always a joy to listen to. You can tell by his reading that he enjoyed reading this story. It is a touching tale which would have made a fine episode. He pours emotion in to each character he gives voice to.

This is the first audio book I have listened to that has made me close to tears. I only wish some of the writing for Series 3 of the show had been up to this standard
