Editorial Reviews

Paul Sexton (Music Week) exton (Music Week)
`The seductive Mona marries chilled folk and knowing indie, while the beautiful China White Doll has a lovely brass intro and piano coda.'

Album Description
Captive State's debut EP is a well-formed combination of psych-folk and radio-friendly indie rock combined with a leftfield `beats' sensibility with a resulting sound akin to Air remixing the Beta Band's "Three EPs", fronted by Guy Garvey's kid brother. The band's first demos received high praise from Brian Eno and the Elmore Grove EP has been heavily supported on Radio 2 by Bob Harris and Stuart Maconie/Mark Radcliffe.

About the Artist
Captive State is a London 6-piece led by writers Joseph Kennedy and Tom Bootle. The duo have been writing songs together for a number of years but teamed up with producer Nick Franglen of Lemon Jelly fame and Grammy winning engineer Dom Morley to create the `Elmore Grove' EP.
