Great! Buy it!5
Fantastic music and songs, truly one of ALW's best musicals. The only criticism I can find is the music on the CD differs very slightly on the odd word or two to make it more acceptable, but it's only noticeable if you've actually seen the production. Still brilliant!

Great music.Magnificent,powerful,moving.Listen!5
The words and the music are matched, blended, intertwinned. The lyrical precision is beautiful. The musical direction brilliant!
I was deeply moved each of the 2 times I saw the stage production. It bought back deep memories of the period. Nothing cynical or gratuitous about this production.

One of the most original and exciting things to me since early Berkoff. If you hear a critic charge it as superficial then question that critics integrity.
Its about love, its about youth making out and needing to make a difference. Football? its a metaphor!
If Evita could be a hit this should be a monster and it should be a film!

Typical of ALW music - a little bit "hit and miss"4
I bought the CD a few weeks ago but hadn't actually got round to listening to it until I went to see the show last week. The music is typical of ALW i.e. a little bit "hit and miss" - some excellent songs 'In God's Country', 'Let us Love in Peace' and I' Don't like You' mixed in with some very average stuff. It is very powerful and emotional but as a "Les Miserables" fan, these are qualities/ingredients which I'm used to and are essential to produce to a top rated dramatic musical.

I would bear with this CD, you may not like it at first but it is more rewarding the more you listen to it.
