AN ASTOUNDING DEBUT
The Contrast release a debut album that rocks but is thoughtful and has the maturity one does not usually associate with first albums. If you only buy one record this year by a band that you have never heard of then this must be it. Think of Elvis Costello, Tom Verlaine, RADIOHEAD...the obvious influences go on and read like a hall of fame of what is cool in rock music. The 3rd Wave of British New Wave? The first single "She's Been Here Before" sold out on day of release. This album will follow in it's footsteps. By the end of 2001 everyone will know who The Contrast are and you can say that you were there first.
