Great tips and advice to get you started in your new sport!
What a great book! I am a total beginner and this book has really helped me to get started... it explains everything in an easy to read and understand format. It helped me not to feel like such a novice when I had my first lesson. I love the illustrations, really funky girlie drawings. Every time I dip into this book I find it hard to put down, I just love it... It makes you want to hop in the car and head for the beach! I can't rate this book highly enough if you are just getting started then this is for you, you won't be dissapointed.
Great Book
Great book, answered all the questions I felt silly ask, has plenty of tips and explains the language of surfing! It is well written and has great artwork and design, it's a completely enjoyable read and I am sure it's lessons will help me out on the waves.
Get to know your 'break types' and out to the 'line up'
While in Tate St Ives (overlooking the beach of boogie- and long-boarders), I saw this book and often wondered what 'point break' actually meant.
This book (it really is for absolute beginners) was great in giving the feeling of fun but also does what it says in the title. While I'm not a surfer yet, the descriptions, graphics and well crafted design make this a joy to read even if you don't want to get wet. You can at least 'bluff' that you know what you're doing!
Enjoy the read, get some practice in and then out to the 'line up'!
