Dissapointing juicer but great entertainment. ;-)1
The only good feature about this juicer is that it made me laugh when I first turned it on.. It was slightly louder than a 747 and shaked about like a 14 year old yorkshire terrier.. It fills up with pulp very quickly and has a tendancy to spit juice at you rather than fill up a jug. If you want to be entertained by a juicer, buy this one. If you want a good juicer buy something else.

After just 2 months of use (just after my neighbours had moved out due to the noise) It commited juicer suicide. he started to churn out small bits of black plastic followed by smoke and then it died. I will miss it because wearing ear defenders in the kitchen whilst the wifes holds the juicer down and trying to catch blobs of juice in a large bowl from a few meters made us laugh so much it took the edge off a hard day at work.

I now have a Philips HR1861 Pro Aluminium Juicer which it fantastic but not as amusing.

Happy juicing ;-)

Disappointing1
Our shiny new Juicer arrived and excitedly we loaded it with oranges. After a few seconds the juice started to flow from the spout. Unfortunately this seems to be designed to spill everywhere except in the glass underneath. Undeterred we sampled the juice which had a large amount of froth on. It had a distinct tang to it that did not taste very Orange.

On opening the machine we found it had a strong smell of plastic which had transferred to the juice. We soaked all the plastic parts in hot soapy water for an hour and tried again, this time with an apple. The same results.

We washed the machine up a further 3 times and also left it to soak in hot water. We then tried it with grapefruit. The same plastic taste was evident and the inside of the juicer still smelt of plastic.

I would not recommend this juicer based on my experience. It is also very difficult to clean as the pulp collection area is too narrow to get a washing up brush into.

All in all very disappointing.

Good entry level juicer4
This is a 45 quid juicer, and as such, it has a few slight niggles that are unfortunate. Centrifugal juicers arent meant to cost less than £70 or £80.

juice does spurt from the exit point occasionally but this is easily remedied by holding a small plate above the catching glass - said juice will now trickle down plate and into glass to join the rest of the juice.

Pulp is not soaking at all, it is slightly moist, I cannot report problems with wasted juice here. 2 braeburns, a celery stick and 2 carrots give me 400 mils of juice.

Machine is loud and violent, once or twice I have had to physically restrain the machine from rattling off my kitchen surface. This problem has calmed a little, probably due to 'wearing in' the motor and various components.

Alas! One must clean the 4 pieces of the juicer after using it! How 20th century! - I myself am okay with this; I have no strong aversion to cleaning and am happy to part with 3 minutes of my time to do so.

Finally, the machine is larger than you might expect. It is sturdy, and in my opinion, well constructed.

So thats about it. If you want an inexpesive juicer and not merely a fruit blender, then this is for you. If you want to sample the benefits of fruit and veg juicing without spending in excess of 150 pounds, then this is for you. If you get ruddy bored of juices, then sell it on ebay.
