Red Faction: Guerrilla redefines the limits of destruction-based gameplay with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

  • Open World Guerrilla Warfare: You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilise guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
  • Strategic Destruction: Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Red Faction ! *****5
This is a great game love it and it looks amazing it is really fun too free roam and you can destroy everything all things i run about just bringin down buildings with my sledge hehe :) great game great missions loads of side missions too makes the game really quick big and even more fun recommened it to any one loves the type of game were u can just run about and do what you want lol but also if you like a challange cause this game gives you some difficult missions :D

Fantastic, but a couple of minor annoyances4
I had a pre-order for this game, having played it a little on a friend's PS3. When it eventually arrived, Amazon gave me the pre-order price, which was lower than the eventual price. Score!

The good first: graphics are fantastic, sound effects are great, and the game play is excellent. Any vehicle is there to be stolen and driven around, and you can drive through or over almost anything. Buildings, vehicles and other structures (and there's a lot of variety) are completely destructible, and you get salvage from the wreckage, so you have plenty of reason to smash stuff up.

The bad points: as another reviewer has said, this game tries to be a CRPG, but isn't really. Save games take you back to the safe house (effectively a save point) for that zone. You can't stock up on weapons or vehicles, because you always carry a certain (limited) amount and it's reset after each mission. Coming from Fallout 3, which is a true CRPG, it was a bit jarring to try and park a vehicle somewhere for later use, and come back to find it gone! Or even worse, an APC replaced with a scooter!

It takes a little getting used to, but it's well worth the adjustment.

Great fun4
This game is fabtastic fun, it may not have the best story line or game-play in the world, like other I would have preferred a first person view.

However for a bit of escapism and to just blast the hell out of everything in sight you can't go wrong here, having come from Fallout 3 it has taken a bit of getting used to though.
