Customer Reviews
good detail & sophistication but clear and concise
Good detail, thorough coverage of my Spec (OCR A), so assume similar for others. Clear explanations of key concepts that students often find hard - plant succession, local energy budgets, catenas, the DTM, etc.
And of course there is a scattering of the usual CGP ditties if you like that sort of thing (I won't call them jokes) - e.g. "I drove my Chevy to the levee - and it was a boring old river bank...", "What did the sea say to the beach? - nothing, it just waved...", "Dew wanna learn about weather or not?", "Hjulstrom curve - sounds more like something you'd see in Ikea".
As a general AS book there is of course much that is not relevant to my Spec, as you might expect. At least there is indication of what bits are relevant to which Specs, including options.
The usual Geography-book achilles heel of inaccurate explanation of the cause of volcanoes at destructive plate margins is there - it is generally agreed to be largely the result of the addition of volatiles (water) to the mantle wedge, NOT melting of the subducting plate. But I suppose that is splitting hairs really.
