Synopsis

The Northern Lights And City Lights Box Set tells the story of competitive best friends Howie and Colin, who are married to sisters, live next door to one another, and work for the same company. In "Northern Lights", Howie and Colin attempt to outdo each other's achievements, leading to conflict in their friendship. In "City Lights", Howie and Colin witness a gangland shooting and have to join the Witness Protection Scheme, leading to the forced relocation of their families to London. This DVD also includes the "Christmas Lights" episode.

Northern Lights Up the TV Schedule
This is a brilliant comedy drama - one of the best. Both series were great, the first being aired directly opposite Life on Mars and it was a question of taping-one-and-watching-the-other. The ratings were good, considering it up against such a giant. Mark Benton and Robson Green work well together and brighten every scene with Colin and Howard's competitive childness and long-term friendship. If I could make one crititisim, Pauline, Howard's wife, is always miserable and is in danger of spoiling the show. That said, the rest of this comedy drama is top-notch and is generally unmissable.

tremendous viewing
this is a must-have dvd for fans of good comedy. What a laugh and it has some more serious issues as well.

what can happen on a saturday afternoon shopping trip?
this is a great itv show, christmas lights and northern lights was great and city lights is even better. i can not wait till the dvd comes out, i have just placed my order for the series and if itv read this review, please,please,please make more of this series.
