Medium rare
It was the books of Mrs Stokes which helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. She showed me that there is a life after this one. She was such a down to earth lady and that came through in her books. She tells her story without a hint of ego. She could have been anybody's grandma.

I would definately recommend this book to anybody who is mourning the loss of a loved one. In grief, it is all too easy to believe that the loved one is gone forever. Read this book and you are sure to find something to believe in.

I absolutely agree with everyone else, except...
i notice no-one else has said this book made them look over their shoulder or around the room from time to time...i admit it put me on edge a little and made me more aware of my surroundings for some reason. This lady could pick up on anything, even by just standing in the same room with a person she could detect anxiety, danger, and even death. Remarkable ! A brilliant book - i don`t think we will ever have another doris stokes - they only made one. Very highly recommended.

Voices In My Ears
I was given this book by a friend who had was clearing out her things, to be honest I probably would never have chosen to buy it but as I was looking through the bag of unwanted books I picked it up to glance at it,at that point I was hooked and could not put it down for 2 days until I had managed to finish reading it, then went around telling anyone who would listen about the book and the amamzing life of Doris Stokes,so now I'm desperate to read the next book of hers!
