Customer Reviews
"The night Mavis Wavertree invented feet"
A collection of short, silly and inconsequential songs, recorded by Marty Feldman between the first and second series of his breakthrough TV show 'It's Marty'. Most are by John Junkin and Denis King, and several were reused in the 70s radio comedy 'Hello Cheeky'.
Cheerful silliness is the order of the day: a man presents his beloved with Ilford Town Hall as a love token ("The Albert Memorial doesn't match your eyes"); a string of non sequiturs ("Mum is making models out of old banana yoghurt/ and Auntie Cecil's drunk again and lying on the floor") is called Psychedelic Rubbish; Eurovision Song namechecks the other European countries in a shameless play for votes - nearly forty years before Dustin the Turkey.
No milestone of comedy, to be sure, but a very enjoyable 45 minutes all the same.
