Synopsis
The books in the Making out series are fun and accessible guides to languages as they're spoken on the street. These classic phrase books have been updated and expanded for use in informal situations such as bars, parties, or anywhere else one needs to know slang to survive! The books also now feature phrases written in their native script as well as in English, so the book can be shown to the person you are trying to communicate with.

Customer Reviews

This is THE book to get!!!!5
Everything you need to know to pull smoothly in Japan. Tons of very useful phrases and expressions your Japanese teacher wouldn't dream to teach you; ranging from the good old 'do you come here often' to 'what colour underwear are you wearing.' It even has the word for '69' and a brief introduction to love hotels. If you are planning to go there, 'don't leave home without it!'

Buy it but PULL the cover off!!5
This book is great. I really can't recommend it enough. And the price! It really is great value.

But let me warn you: the first thing you should do after buying this book is pull the cover off! Not once, but TWICE has this little beauty been pulled out of my bag at Tokyo airports. The second time was by a Virgin Atlanta ground staff helping me dispose of excess luggage, who remarked 'this is very interesting Japanese', as I turned around to see her flicking through it. Pull the cover off!

The phrases inside are a mix of very useful and laugh out loud funny: 'I'm a virgin','I don't want to have a baby','faster','harder','stronger'.

Despite the neon pink cover, there are more than plenty enough useful phrases to make chit-chit with casual friends. All phrases are given in kanji, katakana and romanji. There are also plenty of humorous cultural insight paragraphs.

How to pull the opposite sex in Japan.5
This book is both useful and funny. It also explains what the literal meaning of words are and gives you a deeper understanding of Japanese. With this book you will be able to ask someone out, be able to know slang names for intimate parts of the body and you will even be able to dump someone and insult them. All angles are covered.
