Tiny
Beware! The hardback version of this book being sold by Amazon is a miniature and it is tiny! This is not clear at all from the web page, not the first time I have experienced this problem.
A purr-fectly great read
I'm not really the kind of person who smiles as they read, but this clever and beautifully-illustrated had me laughing out loud. It's a great read for cat lovers and non-cat lovers alike, whether children or adults, and I was able to identify Six Dinner Sid with at least one real cat I know. I found that it really captures the essence of domestic cats: independent, manipulative, but just too cute to resist feeding and cuddling!
Read it again mummy! - best recommendation there is!
Simply the sweetest, funiest little tale we have read in ages. As I read it out loud the first time is was as much for my own pleasure as the children's. The book with it's delightful illustrations of Sid's many comic facial expressions remains a firm favourite with the children and adults alike several years on. The nice little twist at the end has the right blend of cheekiness and morality to appeal to us all. Very clever use of street names where Sid lived, it will be many years before the children appreciate them but it made the adults smile. You should definitely get a copy for yourself and anyone else with a young family and a sense of humour.
