Synopsis
A double helping of everyone's favourite lazy, lasagne chomping feline. Contains GARFIELD - THE MOVIE and GARFIELD - A TALE OF TWO KITTIES. Based on characters created by Jim Davis, family feature GARFIELD - THE MOVIE tells the story of the titular character--featuring the voice of Bill Murray--a supremely spoiled pet cat, who wants the affection of everyone around him, but only when he wants it. Trouble arises when, under the influence of the beautiful veterinarian Liz (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt), Garfield's owner Jon (played by Breckin Meyer) decides to introduce a cuddly dog called Odie to the family. In GARFIELD - A TALE OF TWO KITTIES, Garfield's owner John Arbuckle tags along to England with his lovely vet girlfriend and inadvertently brings Garfield along, where he winds up being mistaken for Prince, the royal cat of a lordly estate. There's a plot afoot to steal Prince's lands and title, orchestrated by the nefarious Dargis and it's up to Garfield to save the day, that is if he can get his face out of the lasagne long enough.

It's all pretty nostalgic really...3
I loved the Garfield cartoons as a kid. To find out they were finally doing a live action movie was quite exciting, although unfortunately like school uniform, you grow out of it as you get older.

Having said that its very interesting to watch if you're familiar with the cartoon, but if you hated that, then the films will not turn your opinion.

The first movie is just a basic cartoon theme brought to life, the second movie expands a little further out with more character voices. I'd certainly prefer the second one with voices from the likes of Bob Hoskins, Jane Horrocks, Vinnie Jones and Tim Curry and of course the always funny Billy Connolly as the jealous Lord.

But the tragic thing is, there's nothing at all magical about either of them, certainly Bill Murray's voice was made to play Garfield, but really that's about it.

I think the problem is the fact its ten years too late, the whole animation thing has been going on since Toy Story and the voice overs for animals were already done for Dr. Dolittle.

Careful they send you the wrong DVD1
I ordered this Garfield movie and I was sent the Terminal starring Tom Hanks. I asked for it to be exchanged and they said I would have to print out labels from the amazon site and pay for the return at the post office and then wait to be reimbursed. So because of imcompetence I have to run round to return their item. It would be far simpler to send a pre-paid return envelope with the item they should have sent (Garfield movies) with an apology. A very badly thought out exchange policy which alienates customers.

Great, my young son who is a cat lover anyway, loves the films, the first one especially!
