No pain- won't wax again
I hate waxing but found it to be the only way to get smooth legs for longer. But now this will change that view totally. I read the reviews, bought it, and went straight to the intermediate head. Tried the cool pack but didn't even need that. The epilator has a mild stingy tingly effect but nothing like the pain of waxing.

This is on the legs mind you. Haven't done much of the bikini line yet, though I have used the trimmers which are brilliant for preparing for epilation but also to keep things tidy (you know what I mean!!!). The little bit of bikini line I tried was also much less painful than waxing. I just wasn't ready to do too much. Chickened out as I always do with waxing!

The light is excellent- always found it hard to spot stray hairs when waxing.

I will say it is worth going to top speed but moving along the skin slowish to make sure all hairs are grabbed, but really this is such a releif from waxing I don't mind going over a few times for missed bits. It's almost meditative!!!

Hardly any redness/plucked chicken look afterwards compared to waxing. I used to get really damaged skin from that method- traumatised skin like lovebites.

I never write reviews, but really felt compelled to say how great this is, and it will more than pay for itself compared to the £15 minimum a pop wax, which obviously has to be repeated 4 weeks later.

I will be brave and do bikini line soon!

A Great Epilator
I read lots of reviews of different epilators before deciding on the Braun X'elle. What clinched it was the speed of the rotating tweezers - much faster compared to other makes, and I'm always short of time. I had a Babylis one before, probably about 8 years old and it finally packed in so I needed a new one.

I went straight to the normal head on the Braun (not being an epilator virgin) and was surprised how gentle it was. In fact as I felt absolutely nothing I had to check it had actually removed the hair from my legs! It had, and very speedily too. Compared to my old one where you had to keep going over the same bit in an attempt to remove the hair (bit like when a hoover doesn't pick up that piece of lint, you give it another chance before bending down to pick it up!)

What I found amusing from some of the comments was people saying how painful epilation was and how they'd started with the beginner's head before graduating up to the normal one. Clearly these people have never experienced my old epilator. Now that was pain! However I only use it for legs and bikini line, not underarms as I'm not prepared to wait for the unsightly growth stage. The cooling ice pack that comes with the Braun I use for sports injuries, not namby-pamby hair removal, so cheers for that.

This must be the best epilator on the market!
I got mine yesterday and I'm amazed! I've always used Braun epilators and was generally satisfied, but this model exceeded my expectations. Not only has it got a very trendy sparkly look, but it also does everything it promises to do. It REALLY removes all those tiny hairs leaving your skin divinely smooth. I'm used to epilating and pain involved, so did not need to use the ice pack included, but it did not hurt much anyway, compared to my previous epilator. I'm also loving the variety of heads included: you can not only do your legs, but also your bikini line and armpits, which makes life so much easier :) Highly recommended!
