Playing The Game is mis-classified under Entertainment... although playing the games in it is often very entertaining. It is a handbook of 100 theatre games written as a direct response to requests from community drama workers in Belfast. The games are intended for any group situation, not only for theatre/drama work. The sections include observation, improvisation,ice-breakers/warm-ups. encounter, words and stories. It is written in the style of a recipe book .. for busy people who don't want loads of explanation, just crystal clear directions. There is a preface for students or those new to group-work with guidelines on running a workshop. Three years ago it was translated into Spanish ...

Although there are many different ideas in this book, it isn't very user friendly. I think the layout could be better so that each game/activity is easier to understand.
