Better and better5
This has got to rate as one of their best albums of all time. A slightly newer sound but still classic Mantis at heart. I wasnt sure about the new singer Mike Freeland, but his voice does suit this style of music, I hope he stays with the band. I doubt if the single from this album,Turn The Tide, will get any serious airplay or make it onto the music TV, but, fortunately for us that never worries these guys they just keep on making excellent music for those lucky enough to have discovered them.

Mantis back to Top Form5
I've been waiting a long time for the latest Mantis line up to release a new cd but the wait has been more than worthwhile.

"Sanctuary" sees Mantis return to the level of the excellent "Nowhere to Hide" and "Forever In Time" albums easily surpassing their previous release "The Journey Goes On".

The opening track "In Time" a trade mark Mantis song sets the tone for the rest of the album though there are even better songs to follow.

New singer Mike Freeland does a fine job and new drummer Benji Reid combines with Chris Troy on bass to form for the best ever Mantis rhythm section.

Lots of great melodies and choruses with the usual high standard guitar work from Tino Troy. Top drawer production too.

Stand out tracks for me are "Touch The Rainbow", "Playing God", "In Time", "Restless Heart", "Turn The Tide" and the outstanding title track "Sanctuary".

A few refreshing surpises too with "So High" and "Threshold of a Dream" both rockers but not typical Mantis songs.

This is a must buy for all Mantis fans and I doubt if any fans of melodic hard rock will be remotely dissapointed.

Amazing Mantis5
Amazing
I wouldn't have thought that they would get better over the years but Sanctuary proves me wrong.
Well worth adding to the collection.
