Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
Tells the story of the TSR2. Despite all documents relating to the jet seemingly being destroyed when the craft was cancelled, this documentary features unique rare film footage.

Customer Reviews

A great tragedy4
THis film uses probably the most available footage outside of the Military authorities to cover the all too brief life of what was a revolutionary design. An aircraft so blindingly fast that on one of its two engines it could out accelerate the latest state of the art fighter chase plane. Good coverage of the developement programme with revealing interviews with Roland Beaumont the test pilot, and one person who had little time for the political interference that went on ( including intervention by Prince Phillip ). The tale is one of brilliance, jelousy and a final tragedy, if the tale of the demise of such an important aircraft is your interest, then this film is a must !

Very Good4
I enjoyed this DVD! The story of the TSR2 is a sad one, with ignorance, incompetence and an in-built tendency for the British government to sabotage what would have been the one of the finest aircraft ever built. Years ahead of anything then flying!

Slaughter in the Dark5
This is a compelling DVD. An amazing concept, far ahead of it's time. TSR2 represented all that is bad and the heights that UK could have reached. Told in a conversational style with lots of footage, one can't help feel that politics killed this bird. The UK / USA 'special relationship' seems to have been ok as long as the USA were on top!
Parliament of the day should have held it's head in shame. How can the only two ministers with authority at the time state that they 'don't think' it was their decision? Great to watch technically, morally and socially.
