incredible!!!5
My first ever experience of CiM (AKA Simon Walley) was a fill-track on a swayzac compilation. This minute offering of less than 2 minutes was the stand-out track!

I just had to buy his album... and this was it - 22 exquisite sculptures of sweet electronic sound! each one an artistic masterpiece in itself.

With barely a track over 3 1/2 minutes, this is definitely quality, not quantity, although saying that, you do get double the amount of tracks for your money (ep 7 or 8 tracks, album-20+!) due to the shortness of tracks, i am yet to tire of hearing this over and over again!

CiM has managed to create a sound unique and totally distinctive in the electronic scene - subtle swathes of a kind of robotic chilled-out electronica. Imagine a band of R2D2s singing in harmony, playing drums, and keyboards, reverberating across pockets of time and space, and you get the idea! no aggression or harshness, just really uplifting, lovely, innovative and inspiring listening.

If you like the idea of ambient electronic music with suprisingly energising gentle beats and rhythms you really couldnt go wrong with CiMs futuristic abstract creations. Dont get me wrong, I say ambient but this is certainly not slow music! its quite fast in places but without furiousness. (Imagine R2D2s dance music... !)

To really blow your mind I recommmend listening loudly in quality headphones - bliss!!

Cim - Reference5
I like this album. Cim are experimental/abstract techno wizards, who have created a beautiful melee of chopped-up blips, squeaks and crunches and added in a melody worthy of the fantastic noise made.

All the tracks are quite like Autechre, or the early Aphex Twin stuff, but perhaps a bit more ambient, and with less of a new style of music influence.

My favourite tracks are Disco Alta, By a River, Lactate, Warm Data, Isempty, Reference and the wicked Range. The tracks are all quite short, but make up a good buy. Well done Cim.

A timeless classic5
This is a wonderfull album of deep techno/electronics. Timeless in it's purity & I'd go far as to say that it's up the with the best Detroit has to offer - Carl Craig, juan Atkins, Derrick May. I use those names as this feels very much like it has it's roots in the Motor City & it has a subtlety & purity about it that you don't often come across these days. Fantastic release.
