The Five Tibetans are a yogic system of highly energizing postures and exercises that originated in the Himalayas. Liberating and enhancing the innate energetic power of the human body and mind, these five exercises take a minimum of daily time and effort but offer remarkable results in the way of increased physical strength and suppleness as well as mental acuity. In addition, these exercises can be a vehicle for enlivening the senses and generating and harnessing energy for the purpose of self- transformation.
Regular practice of these postures relieves muscular tension and nervous stress, improves respiration and digestion, benefits the cardiovascular system, leads to deep relaxation and well-being, and tunes and energizes the chakras.
The Five Tibetans are explained within the context of traditional yoga, providing a foundation for understanding.
Black-and-white photographs and illustrations complement the text and clearly indicate the proper execution of each exercise.

Customer Reviews
Straight forward, informative, and achievable
Great book, fairly short and concise but with all the information you would need on the practice of the Five Tibetans.
I bought this book a few years back but, like many things, read it and shelved it for another day... Whilst putting up new shelves for my books I came across it and decided to finally give it a go.
The postures/exercises are straight forward enough, and the whole practice lasts 15 minutes or less. After a week of practice I feel somewhat energised. It would probably help if you have a bit of yoga experience but it's not essential. I had only been to about 10 classes previously and most of the poses were not practised there anyway.
Highly recommended. The author writes clearly, and this is definitely a great place to start for the beginnings of a daily practice.
I feel moved to share my thoughts on this Book
For me the five Tibetan exercises do energise me. Prior to reading this book, years of a long hours/high stress job had worn me down close to the edge, since reading it and doing the exercises I am much more energetic and able to cope. Doing the exercises is no a chore and I never feel its too late or I`m too tired to do them.
WOW!
I can verify that everything the other reviewers have written is correct. I have been doing the exercises for 1 week only, and my back no longer troubles me, it actually feels stronger! and when I finish the exercises I get a warm pleasant feeling at the base of my spine (where it used to hurt) its as though the damage of yeasr of bad posture, poor car seats, etc is being repaired! I also feel fitter, happier, energetic and calmer, not loads, but more so, and its early days yet!
