WARNING: This book could seriously change your life
Soultrader asks you to examine and redefine your perception of a "career". A career being not just something you simply do for someone else in order to get money to live but as activities which embody and define who you are, your passions and your dreams. By doing something you love you are able to invest more into it and so logically have a much better chance of success. A soultrader.
Through highly inspirational , and motivational content soultrader urges you to look at yourself and your situation and define what you really want from life. To believe in your potential, that is possible to achieve what you want and then summon up the courage to take the (fearsome) steps needed to start moving towards your destiny. Soultrader is not simply full of hype and empty promises. The book contains very practical and worthwhile exercises to help you. These exercises help you to define, formulate and clarify your own dreams, thoughts and ideas into practical and workable plans which can help lead you towards becoming a soultrader i.e. Chapter Six "12 Day Life Purpose Plan" The style of this book is humorous and easy to read and above all down to earth honest; taking control of your life and your career will be tough and require hard work , discipline and determination. Not recommended for people who are looking for a comfortable and easy ride.
Chapter Five describes and captures very well some important issues and the zeitgeist that I suspect many people are feeling as a result of Globalisation, the burst Internet Bubble, 9/11 and the current global economic downturn. It offers an alternative and positive perspective.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Yesterday I resigned from my job. I admit I had been dissatisfied at my job for a long time but through reading this inspirational and thought provoking book at the right time it really helped me to make some important decisions and set me on a new path. I don't know exactly where it will lead but to quote:
"I am in control of my life , I am responsible , I choose to be on the right path"
Thought provoking. Like having a very personal coach
I liked this! Soultrader gets you in front of some almost taboo big life questions, with helpful, down to earth advice. Very useful if you need to figure out what might be happening with your career or if you feel a bit unsure of direction. I have lent it to a friend who isn't sure if she is in the right job and trying to make a big decision. Working through some of the exercises meant I got some new ideas. So - inspiring stuff - I liked the idea that your purpose is to be happy! Tell my manager.
One Of My Favourites
I found this book extremely useful and motivating. Not only did it help me to really think through what I wanted to do in my life, it helped me see how I could get there and made me believe that I would be successful. Occasionally the style of the writer was slightly annoying, but overall it is one of the best books I have bought on this area.
