Editorial Reviews

Review
Amazon review for the previous edition: 'Anyone who is thinking of dieting -- STOP HERE. This is the handyman guide to dieting. All weight loss classes will ask you to keep a watch on how many calories/fats/carbohydrates you eat per day -- BUT they never explain to you what foods have what in them!. If you don't know, you need this book'

Customer Reviews

Useless1
I found this book to be completely useless. It lists just about every food by a 100g weight measurement including things like jam and pickle where a more user-friendly measurement might be more appropriate (eg by the teaspoon or tablespoon). It lists, for example, fish fingers by the 100g and Tunnocks tea cakes by the 100g instead of by an individual portion. I have returned my copy. Why the writers could not have put a bit of effort in and worked out portion sizes or even simply copied the information from the listing on the product I don't know.

Awesome for working out calories in your favourite meals5
Had to write this review as I disagree with the previous review. Other calorie counting books have irritated me because they gave calorie content for teaspoons and tablespoon measurements which makes it very difficult to accurately compare foods side by side for calorie and fat content. If you want to calculate the calorie content of your favourite recipes, this book is ideal. If however you want a book to take out with you and get a rough estimate of what you are consuming there are tons of other books on the market that will do exactly that.

Good for dieting4
Great help when dieting. This book has helped me count calories and fat while dieting.
