Synopsis
In COYOTE UGLY, an aspiring songwriter, Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo), leaves her small-town home and her supportive father (John Goodman) for New York City in hopes of starting a music career. But life in the big city is harder than she imagined. Feeling defeated, and unemployed, she hears about a job opening at a bar called Coyote Ugly, and persuades the bar owner, Lil (Mario Bello), to give her a chance among the bar's beautiful brigade of bartenders. When Violet arrives for work the bouncer tells her it's a quiet night, but when she goes inside the bar she is hit by a wall of throbbing music and howling men. Two women are atop the bar, pulling a customer back over it, pulling up his shirt, and pouring beer on his chest. Welcome to COYOTE UGLY. How will Violet deal with the bar... How will it deal with her... What of her songwriting plans... Inside this raucous, raunchy movie, coproduced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer (FLASHDANCE), is a sweet romance between Violet and Kevin (Adam Garcia), a refreshing escape from the chaos of the bar.

Customer Reviews

Coyote Ugly: a pleasent escape5
Well regardless of what any other reviewers may say, this film certainly is entertaining. Okay, okay if you are looking for a film with some deep meaning or an example monumental filmmaking go watch Battleship Potemkin but if a simple laugh and a giggle is all your after this film is for you.

The storyline is indeed a little predictable but nethertheless Coyote Ugly serves its purpose as a romping teen flick to the upmost!!! Its got some nice looking women for the men and some bitchy yet powerful female figures for the women, not to mention a reasonble male love interest.

Other reviewers comment on the fact that no one seems to be served in the bar and that they are all sober, well if you are looking for a realistic portrayal of bar life why don't you go sit in one with a video camera taping the ambience until an angry bodyguard throws you out thinking you are some strange pervert with a bar fetish!!! Realism is not what this film is aiming for a pleasent glimpse at the struggle of a song writter in New York, and if anyone finds the punters sober I suggest they watch the scene in which some of the bar maidsare near attacked by a hoard of drunken sailors on leave.

Anyway, all in all this film is perfect for a uplifting evening in. No it won't challenge your intellect and change your perception on life but it will provide a great escape from a hard day which has to be equally as valuale!!!

Amazing5
This is a very good film. Admittedly it might not be the most intellectual film you'll ever watch, however its easy and it has something for everyone.

Men - They'll love it because, hell it has tabletop dancing in it.
Women - will love it as it has everything you could want from a film, hot guy, cute girl, love story, dancing.

I see this film as being along the line of dirty dancing and flash dance only its much more up to date and it has something for the guys in it. This film is very good and I especially like the cameo appearances by Leann Rimes and Tyra Banks.

A Must See, Every Girl or Woman should go out and watch this, Right Now!!!!

Great fun!4
One of the dvds in my collection that I've watched quite a few times, I never tire of it. Not only does the film have one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard but Adam Garcia looks absolutely gorgeous in it. WHERE IS HE NOW?!! With a good storyline, loads of emotion and a lovely romance, Garcia shows us what a perfect boyfriend should be like!
