Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a condition that is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Despite common perceptions, only 50 per cent of cases are related to diet and the causes of the other 50 per cent of cases are rarely examined and sufferers are unable to find suitable treatment. In this groundbreaking new book, Professor John Hunter reveals how you can solve the causes of your IBS. Using his carefully-constructed questionnaire, find out the reasons for your symptoms then turn to the appropriate chapter to learn how to treat them. "Irritable Bowel Solutions" also answers all the other questions that might be causing concern, such as: What if I don't fit any of the types described? What do probiotics really do and are they helpful? Will my disease always affect me or can I manage it effectively?

The ONLY book worth reading on IBS
I have had IBS for 15 years and no one has ever been able to help - doctors, alternative therapists, nutritionists, you name it. Finally, this book gave me a quick and easy diagnosis of the type of IBS I have and the solution proposed by the book worked. I reduced the amount of fibre in my diet and I was cured overnight - literally. I have never written an Amazon review before, but I really want to spread the word to IBS sufferers about this book. It's written by a doctor who's a specialist in the field and works in a large NHS hospital. He's one of the few that has bothered to properly research an area of medicine that is non-critical but affects the lives of millions.
THIS BOOK REALLY UNDERSTOOD MY PROBLEM
This interesting book by Professor Hunter really does explain the causes of IBS and actually understands what we sufferers go through. When GP's can only tell us what we have not got eg. cancer, but cannot offer any help or explanation as to our symptoms, this clearly explains and helps. I have a combination of the two causes and now after trialling a diet can say I have my IBS fully under control after over 16 years!! How fab is that!!! I would recommend this book to patients AND TO DOCTORS so they can better advise their patients.
A GOOD INFORMATIVE BOOK WHICH KNOCKS ALL THE OTHERS ON THE MARKET INTO A COCKED HAD (believe me I have read them!)
worth its weight in gold
I've seen my gp a couple of times a speacialist bowell consultant on my private helath policy and was in treatment with a hyponotherpaist.
Compare to this book they've all been a waste of money - you can read this book in a day - self diagnose the type of ibs you have (essentially it seems like there are 4 types) most so called health professionals that ive spoken to seem to group ibs in 1 big bucket)
It offers really practical ways to identify and test which type you are - and then offers some really simple steps to sort things out - if you have IBS you should definitel;y read this book
