Trungpa is my 'root guru' meaning I didn't have the chance to meet him in this life, but have known him in many lifetimes and find his teachings the most important to me. I have pilgrimmaged to his sacred sites, including Samye Ling which he co-founded in 1966 and Rocky Mountain Shambala Center in Colorado, where his ashes remain. He devoted himself to being a very accessible western teacher.
