About the Author
John Richer is Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Paediatrics at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. He has been involved in the field of autism for thirty years, first in research and now in clinical practice. Sheila Coates is Head of Service for Autism, Oxford. She has worked in the field of autism since the early seventies and was instrumental in setting up the Chinnor Project, now known as the Chinnor Resource Units for Autistic Children.

A brilliant collection of research and practice.
There are excellent chapters on social understanding and understanding how the autistic mind works. The chapters by Jennert and another by Sherratt on play were inspiring.
