Sarno's books superior2
This book was, frankly, a disappointment. After reading Sopher's chapter in one of Sarno's books, it seemed that he had something of value to add to Sarno's Mindbody approach to relief of back, and other, pain. But this book just didn't deliver.

First, do not be misled by the page count. The format is doublespaced. There really isn't a lot of information.

Though the style is easier to read than Sarno's, it doesn't provide anywhere near the information, and is nowhere near as convincing. Most of the chapters are virtually duplicates in terms of the info they contain. Although the author indicated that there would be information specifically related to the body parts covered by each chapter, there really was nothing that was specific to that part, simply a restating of the book's premise.

Sopher went on a diatribe against workers compensation programs, which is certainly not helpful to the person suffering from pain.

Frankly, my sense is that Sarno sees himself as a charismatic person who can cash in on Sarno's system. If you have any interest in this method - and I personally am convinced that it's legitimate, having used it on myself for restless legs and strange sensations that prevent sleep - then save your money for Sarno's books.

Practical version of Dr Sarno's book5
This book is much more accessible than Dr John Sarno's "The Mindbody Prescription" and also details many other ailments that can be helped without pills. Dr Sopher cured his own sciatica and has now helped me recover from RSI and back pain.
I highly recommend this book!

Still no back/neck pain thanks to books like this5
I read Dr Sarno's books a year or two ago and since then my back and neck pain has improved amazingly. I have been buying every so often other books on TMS (like this one is) and reading a page or so every morning so I don't fall back into my old ways. I'm still ok! I've saved so much money on Chiropractors etc. What's great about this Sopher book is that it reads much better than any of Sarno's. If I now wanted to give a friend with back pain a TMS book I think I would now pass on Sopher's.

If you have back/neck/leg/foot pain etc or RSI please please just try reading this book once.
