Review
You have to keep reminding yourself, listening to David Ross talk about William Wallace, that the Scottish patriot lived and died 700 years ago. For the freshness and vigour with which he tells the tale gives the impression that it all happened only yesterday- and that he was the reporter on the spot, charged with recording the events for posterity. - - (Televisual on 24/02/1999)

David Ross lives in East Kilbride. A wonderfull exciting read that made me think i was there.
If you've wanted to read a book that makes history into a boys's own story this is it.Maps with places to visit, details galore : historical and non historical.Facts and fiction. It reads so well.I read this in about 1 & 1/2 days.Bet you do the same.Buy it.You won't put it down.
Very nice general approach.
This book affers a very nice and easy to understand approach of William Wallace life. As a foreigner, I loved to see the map (showing the locations) and faithful reproductions/drawings of local monuments (I attended some of them).
For anyone who wants to know about William. The book doesn't require any former knowledge. I do recommend the book. For a more detailled book (but this one requires former knowledge on the subject), there is the book written by James Mackay.
A great angle on the Great Partriot
This book shows where William Wallace can be found today...Mr Ross's passion for his subject shines through and this book will be of interest to those with an interest in Scottish history and the Wars of Independence.
Like Mr Ross I beacame fascinated with Wallace and Bruce as a teenager and the interest continues to this day. I'll look out for his other books.
