Editorial Reviews

Review
'Easy to read and highly informative. I picked up from it lots of ideas which I am sure I will find useful in my work with families, and indeed I have already found some of them to be of value ... I recommend this as a valuable addition to the family therapy literature.' - The Canadian Child Psychiatry Review

'Throughout the book, Selekman's creativity and spontaneity shine through ... He offers clinicians a perspective of hope and optimism while drawing on the expertise and competencies of clients in meeting their goals. This book should be required reading for anyone doing clinical work with children and families.' - Journal of Systemic Therapies

Work with children & Families? Read this!!!5
As a relative novice to the world of brief therapies, I was heartened to read this book which blew away many of my existing assumptions. I have pracitced psychotherapy for ten years and discovered that Selikmans approach questions many of the commonly held beliefs about families that therapists hold. His advice on "impossible cases" and "multi-therapist" families is simple but enlightening.
The text is enaging and well written reinforcing the authors reputation as an engaging and entertaining speaker.
This is well worth buying.
