Only bought for one track but all are good!
Been searching for a lifetime for one track and found it in it's full length form on this CD - My Magic Man by Rochelle! Up there with "Touch Me" by Fonda Rae and any Loose Ends track.
Other standout tracks include "Watching You" by Slave (so that's where Pharrell and Snoop got "Let's Get Blown" inspiration from?!), and the Larry Graham and Kleeer tracks.
Just ordered Vol 1 and looking forward to it, will there be a Vol 3? Hope so.
little bit poor selection
there are so many good early 80's 12 inches in the vault of warner, atlantic & elektra, so to my humble opinion this is a bit of poor selection of 80's club tracks.
The only good thing is the appearence of jenny burton & rochelle in their full length 12" versions, to my knowledge not available before on cd. Gino Soccio, Slave, Kleeer & Patrice Rushen are decent tracks but all already available on cd.
I have a few suggestions for club connection volume 3;
Wanda Walden - Don't you want my lovin'
Mighty Fire - Love Fantasy (killer track!!!)
George Benson - Shiver
(all in their 12" versions of course)
Just the one track makes it a five...
"I didn't know about love..." by Lenny White and Twennynine is the track that makes this compilation stand out.
Of course, there are plenty more mainstream and recognizable hits from the dance floor on this compilation. But this track is truly, really excellent. Not a typical dance floor filler, but intelligent, sultry, and sung and produced to the standard that is Lenny White's 80's studio collective.
