Great Game!
Really enjoying this game, been playing it none stop since it arrived and have found the PSP controls really easy to pick up. Cant understand the gripes about the left stick for swing controlls, i find it very rare that i miss the fairway, apart from when i try to take on the course too much.
In game graphics are good and the cut scene Tiger intro's are great, really liking the Tour challenges and i am so glad they have got rid of the annoying round performance summary that used to punish you for playing to your clubs and current power etc and hitting all the fairways.
Great Game!
Great golf game.
Yet another great game from EA Sports. I won't be comparing this game with the other Tiger Woods PGA Tour games because this is my first time on the PGA Tour.
So far I've enjoyed the game. On the plus side the software is great, easy to use and understand. The courses aren't to difficult until you crank up the wind. I find (Breezy) makes the courses challenging but not to difficult. The putting is very responsive and adds to the games skill factor by testing your concentration.
One of the great features is the spin you can put on the golf ball while it's in flight. You can get close to the hole with this feature.
You get sponsors giving you money for using their products. And you can upgrade your clubs, balls, clothing, even your golf tees.
There are mini games to play, putting frenzy and hitting targets. There is also a driving range.
Another great feature are the challenges you can take part in to see if you can equal or beat certain feats that real life players have at some time in their golfing careers achieved. Some are hard to believe and even harder to match.
I also like the commentary. Friendly voices with a large portion of humour.
If your caddy thinks that you are under pressure you get the chance to play a mini confidence building game. You could be signing autographs or clearing away leafs or washing your ball or slowing down your heart beat. All great fun to play.
The only faults I've found up to now are the Westchester course has some of its holes mixed up. Par five becomes a par three, and visa versa. And on one occasion after a round, the session did not save, so I had to replay the round again.
But I think that a big boo boo is the fact that you can't save your memorable shots. Holes in one, albatrosses, eagles and birdies. You can save shots through the green, but your last shot, when you hole out, is usually the most memorable and the one you want to save. But once you hole out the hole finishes and you move on to the next hole. Then the game won't allow you to save the last shot when you begin a new hole. This is a big mistake by the game developers and is an oversight in my eyes. On the positive side, it won't be long before your next memorable shot, so there's always that to look forward to.
One thing that perplexes me is when I'm on the putting green, the confidence bar at the top of the screen starts to flash and most annoyingly a chime starts to ring out. Why, I don't know! Maybe I'll find out as I progress through the game.
Don't be put off by my negative comments. Overall the positives of this game greatly outweigh the negatives.
So, if you're interested in buying this game I would recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
