Product Description

The gardening technique that works with nature and the cosmic forces to make your garden a flourishing paradise of fruitfulness. The practice of bio-dynamics developed from a course of lectures on agriculture given by Rudolf Steiner in 1924, at the urgent request of a number of farmers alarmed at the deterioration of food crops. It has now become a thriving worldwide movement, followed by thousands of farmers and smallholders in Britain, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Americas, and used by private gardeners everywhere. This authoritative book enables you to practise bio-dynamics in your own garden. It explains the principles, including the use of special preparations that enhance the fertility of the soil, how to work with the cosmic influences when sowing and planting, how to cope with pests and diseases and what companion plants to choose for effective results. The book covers fruit and vegetables, herbs and special features, and includes advice on crop rotation, green manuring and mulching. It offers special guidance on composting and preparation of the soil, and suggests varieties that are particularly recommended for flavour and productiveness. First published in 1983, this standard book on the subject has been revised and updated, with new information and illustrations. Used for many years by members of Bio-Dynamic Agricultural Association, it now brings bio-dynamic to every gardener who ins in tune with the trends towards gardening in harmony with nature.

Bio Dynamic Gardening5
This is the book to explain why biodynamic gardening is so much more than just organic gardening. Traditionally schooled scientists will have difficulty accepting the methods described but the results cannot be disputed. A really good, hands-on book for the beginner.
