Customer Reviews

Like playing The Sims after playing The Sims 23
Essentially, The Sims Life Stories is The Sims 2 minus the quirks and perks. It has a relatively low specification, and so makes little demand on your system. It is also happily minimised should you wish to check your mail/chat on MSN/pretend to be doing something more constructive when someone pops in to see you. It's the perfect substitute for those whose computer just cannot handle the demands of the main game, or those who do not have the time to wait for the main game and its billion expansion packs (all necessary of course) to load up, but for those with the option...

If you are used to playing The Sims with all the expansion packs and tons of custom content, this may begin to feel very limited very fast. I tend to be frustrated by games where the family size limit is four also, as I particularly like having big bustling households. It's a definite step back, and is reminiscent of playing the original The Sims games after experiencing the broadened gameplay of The Sims 2.

Good if you have a low spec machine, or want something to fill the time whilst waiting for your next messageon MSN, else save your money and wait for the next expansion pack, or even The Sims 3!The Sims: Life Stories (PC DVD)

WARNING! THIS GAME WON'T PLAY ON SIS INTERGRATED GRAFIX CARD. 3
THIS GAME WON'T PLAY PROPERLY ON SIS INTERGRATED GRAFIX CARD.

You get nasty flashing walls, and rubbish grafix effects.

Because it's integrated into the motherboard. You can't upgrade the grafix

SO DONT BE FOOLED.

By the hype that is Laptop friendly.

It is not to all Laptops!

I have a brand new laptop. I wasn't aware it had a ridiculuos Graphics card inside. If I did, I would of bought a much better Laptop.

What makes me angry as this is marketed as laptop friendly.

I thought that that the games, stating Laptop Friendly would play on my Laptop.. It's 2gb memory, 120gb hard drive, dual core processor.

No problems?

Yep.

The Sims Stories specs are

MINIMUM PC REQUIREMENTS
1.4GHz Processor
256MB RAM
8X DVD-ROM Drive
2.7GB Hard Disk Space
32MB ATi Radeon 7500 or nVidia GeForce2 class Video Card
DirectX compatible Sound Card
DirectX 9.0c

It stated on the Official Maxis site that this game, and the other stories game don't require a video card.

How wrong are they!

So playing this on my desk top.

Its a good game, when it plays properly.

Not a bad Game4
I bought this game after my PC ran out of memory. This game is perfect for the laptop and that is exactly where i have installed this. The screen is different to the other Sims2 games in that it is in a window which you can minimise. The only problem is that i dont like the new movement system. (you have to use the keyboard to move around rather than having the scrolling arrow at the edge of the screen)
I like this game because there is a set storyline. You can create your own families etc just like Sims2 but there is also 2 ready-made stories for you to play.
You can choose Riley who has moved in with her Aunt when she was evicted. She has moved back to her hometown, is living with her Aunt and not only has her old boyfriend appeared but there is also an opportunity for new love.
There is also Vincent who is unlucky in love because everyone just wants his mountains of money!
The great thing is that you don't have to stick rigidly to what they tell you to do and you can continue to play the family after the story has finished. I have completed both stories and although they are fairly short, I have continued the story on my own. (My Riley died with 10 kids, 20 grandkids and a fantastic aspiration score)
