They don't make them like this anymore
I couldn't believe my luck when Amazon released this Boxset. I loved it as a child and wondered if it has stood the test of time. I wasn't dissapointed!
I have been rivetted to it and have watched the whole Series in a couple of evenings.It's a fascinating trip down memory lane back to the 70's. It's interesting to see how society has changed in its views in such a short period of time.
Googie Withers comes across as a compassionate Governer and Mrs Armitage is the original Bodybag (Bad Girls).
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Amazon will come out with the subsequent Series.

AT LAST!! Truly classic television, thank god it's coming to DVD!
This is a brill program. When I was younger I can remember watching this but a few years (quite a few) Granada channel on sky ran the series early in morning. Just when i found this out a few episodes later it finished. Since then I regularly run searches on the TV listings and DVD stores, hence my discovery of this. Needless to say that I have ordered my copy with Amazon. It has been listed with other stores (not many) but Amazon as usual is the cheapest.
The story-lines are great as are the character's. People who love Prisoner Cell Block H will enjoy this. Because of the amount of time since it has been shown I am unable to give a more detailed account. Really I just wanted let people know how happy I am that this has finely been made available and at the price amazon has it at you can't go wrong.

I was really excited to find this absolute gem of a TV series. I can clearly remember watching this when I was young on a Friday night in the days of London Weekend Television. It is the original & best womens prison drama & the forerunner to series that followed like Prisoner cell block H - in fact it was after this show was shown in Australia that the aforementioned series was concieved. I cant wait to get my copy. Cant find it anywhere else either so well done Amazon.
