Bergerac Series 8
You can't go wrong with any of the Bergerac series, although series 8 was the last series to have Jim Bergerac (played by John Nettles) as full time Policeman (later resigned from the Bureau) the storylines are still good, strong and well written.

For a series like this to continue for years and years and maintain the pace, vitality, good writing and performances without appearring contrived takes some doing especially when your plot revolves about a small island, however, the writers don't disappoint and although some epsiodes may be stronger than others, overall it is still very good television and puts some of the rubbish that you see on the box these days in its place. A shame that much of the TV output these days is not in the Bergerac league.

Series 9 is due out in August and it should make interesting viewing as the writers have to try and write for a Post Jersey States Police Jim Bergerac!

This is an ongoing collection as I used to live in Jersey and the series was made in my office, so it has special nostalgic memories of my time in Jersey, and it was also a wonderful series.

Bergerac series8. Having collected the previous series, we were keen to watch this too. The story lines built into a big finish, with Jim going off to work on his new wife's family vineyard. Worth having, & watching again, & possibly again!
