Good if you have a Spanish teacher to help you
I bought this book (and Ele 1 the year before) on the advice of my Spanish teacher. It is nicely illustrated and laid out but as the text is pretty much all in Spanish (including the instructions!), I think it would be hard to learn Spanish from on your own if you've had no previous teaching.

Great to learn Spanish - if you can read Spanish!
I'm getting free Spanish lessons at work and this book was the recommended text by the instructor.

Quite why this book is being used escapes me. It is written entirely in Spanish, so if you don't speak a word of Spanish you will struggle with it. It's very hard to revise the lessons taught in class and the CD of examples isn't much help either.

I really cannot recommend this book to anyone unless you have regular contact with a Spanish speaker who can help you decipher what the text is saying. A one hour Spanish lesson at work, like me for example, is not regular enough contact in my opinion.

There are also very few examples that you can practice and write down and there are no answers you can look up to see if you've got it right or at least come close to getting it right.

Finally, at £20, it's very expensive for such a poor - and thin - book.

Verdict: Don't buy it unless you're given compelling reasons to do so that dispel my poor opinion of it.

Would recommend!
This book is brilliant, especially for listening exercises and also written too - but I would suggest either using the book whilst with your Spanish tutor (this is what I do) or if you already have a knowledge of Spanish as even the instructions are in Spanish. I would definitely recommend.
