Customer Reviews
Do you want to know the location of hot axle box detectors? Then this is for you.
Every set of points (switches in the US), every crossover, siding, level crossing, signal box etc is marked on these maps of the Midland / WCML. If you are interested in railways and want to understand how trains negotiate north London stations, the Manchester area, or how steam train specials get from Watford Jn to Melton Mowbray, buy it. I'm not a railway modeller but I guess that this book would also help you lay out your model of St Pancras - assuming you get planning permission for your house extension.
There is an incredible amount of information in this book considering its price. My only problem is that it's out of date (March 2005) and, although TrackMaps, the publisher, is working on a new edition, I am told that it is not imminent. A particular example: the St Pancras plan does not reflect the refurbishment or show the HS1 line.
