About the Author
Maxine Cave trained with Wellington Riding Ltd and became their director of studies. She also worked as an instructor in the equestrian department at an agricultural college, and as a freelance instructor. She was a chief examiner for many years, examining from Stage I throughout to Stage IV and Intermediate Teaching. Due to health reasons she has now retired and remains heavily involved in the equestrian industry through Arabian horse racing, being assistant trainer to her partner who is the trainer and jockey for their horses.

EXCELLENT
i am currently studying the bhs stage 1 course at home through the TOCES, and have found this book an amazing help! it is so precise and 2 the point, and everything u need is in there, i have got quite a few other horse care books, and have found this 1 the best, its so easy 2 find what ur looking for!

a useful, easy to understand course in basic riding.
i found this book a very easy to understand, yet thorough course in the basic skills of riding and general horsemanship. It explains most aspects of riding, from half-halts to half-pass in a clear, detailed way.
